NVUSD Mentor Programs

NVUSD Mentor Programs are designed to give students a look into what entry level jobs are like in Napa Valley’s key industries. We want students to see what is being offered in terms of not only a job but a potential career in the Valley. These programs are unique in that they are inclusive of all students including those with special needs and those at risk. The programs are designed with key industry partners which are experts in their specific industry to ensure students are getting a real taste of the career.

This opportunity is inclusive to all high school students 16 and older in NVUSD.

Program Outcomes

  • Students spend 8 weeks in a rotational paid experience

  • Napa Valley College credit available

  • Opportunity to become employed at the end of the program

  • Letters of Recommendation

  • Networking connections

Timeline

  • Applications go live on March 2nd 

    • Click on the specific program you would like to participate in. Please apply to only one program. 

    • Applications will be open until March 31st, 2020. 

  • Interviews will start on the week of April 13th.

    • You will be receiving an email with an interview date, time and location within 48 hours of applying. 

  • On-boarding / work-permits will begin the first week of May.

    • The summer mentorship job coach will be contacting you about the on-boarding process.

  • The programs run from June 8th - July 31st 

    • Each program begins on Monday, June 8th.

    • There will be mandatory weekly soft skills for each program. Dates and times are TBD.
